What people selling online use it for
Four moments that need new imagery when rebuilding the set makes no economic sense.
One product page, five settings
From the same white-background shot you get the kitchen version, the laid table, the outdoor one. The product does not change: what changes is the context that makes it wanted.
Seasons and occasions
The gift box in December, the picnic in June. Without rephotographing the catalogue every three months.
Testing a direction before spending
Try five directions at a fifth of a credit each, pick the one that works, and only then, if it is worth it, shoot it for real.
An inconsistent catalogue
Products photographed in different years under different lights, brought back to one look.

Questions from people selling online
Does the product stay identical to mine?
It starts from your photo, so shape, label and colour are yours. Always check the result before publishing: labels dense with small text can need a second generation.
Can I use these on my shop?
Yes, on your own site and channels. Marketplaces like Amazon have their own rules for the main product image, usually requiring the real photo on white: there, generated imagery belongs in the secondary images and in advertising.
What does one image cost?
A fifth of a credit, against a full credit for a five-second video. That is why images are included even on entry plans: they cost us a fraction, and the price says so.
Do I need a good photo to start?
It helps, but far less than you would think: product in focus, fully in frame, no hands and no strong reflections. A phone shot on a table is fine.
